Inspiring A Love Of Learning

MacDuffie has a long tradition of providing a rigorous academic college preparatory program. Our program is designed around the liberal arts tradition where students are educated broadly in the areas of Math, Science, English, History, Language and the Arts. In order to challenge students, we maintain small class sizes and we group students according to their abilities and interests in a wide variety of courses. Many of our courses provide integrated learning experiences for students.

"The faculty members here are amazing. They go the extra mile to help you learn." - Alison, '09

Students who graduate from MacDuffie often place in higher levels of courses when they enter college. Many credit MacDuffie with a strong preparation for their college courses as well as a solid preparation in study skills and writing.  MacDuffie graduates display multiple talents and interests which have been nurtured through an extensive extracurricular program.

MacDuffie also provides a “hidden curriculum” that includes leadership development, global stewardship, and appreciation for diversity. Students have opportunities to work both collaboratively and independently in their course work as well as in extracurricular programs. Seniors at MacDuffie participate in a Senior Project of their own design that brings together research, writing, presentation, and collaboration skills under the guidance of mentors inside and outside the school community.
