The Sadowsky Family Library

The Sadowsky Family Library supports the goals of the school community by providing curriculum linked information and educational resources, while collaborating in the promotion of students’ learning, achievement and enrichment. The Library concurs with the expressed philosophies of the American Library Association’s Code of Ethics, Library Bill of Rights, and Statement of Freedom to Read.

The following library environment guidelines support the MacDuffie School CIRCLE attributes:

Community: The library recognizes the importance of working together to achieve both individual and institutional goals and to do so in ways that are supportive and cooperative.

Integrity: The MacDuffie code of conduct is expected especially regarding the legalities of Intellectual Property, copyright and the cooperative use of library materials, electronic equipment and furnishings. 

Respect: To behave prudently with consideration for each other’s learning styles and to care for materials and resources we share with each other.  To respect of the needs, values, and rights of each other to maintain a peaceful library environment.

Creativity: The library will strive to provide materials students require to explore their topics of investigation and to expand various viewpoints, while offering the space for exposition of research. 

Leadership: The library encourages recreational reading in addition to academic research. Reading contributes to self-motivate learning which is an intrinsic life skill students need to be participants today and in the world beyond the school.

Excellence: The Library is committed to supporting teachers in the education of information literacy for the various curriculum based investigations and research.

Rules & Policies

Hours: Monday–Friday 8:15 a.m.-5 p.m.; Evening Study Hall: 7:30 p.m.- 9 p.m.
