Middle School Wins Grand Prize in “The Green Team” Drawing, May 2008
On May 8th, 2008 the MacDuffie Middle School was recognized by the Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Team program for their efforts in improving environmental awareness on the MacDuffie campus. Throughout the school year students have participated in increasing recycling efforts as well as initiated programs to reduce pollution. These are just a few of the activities related to a year-long theme on the environment that infused classes in grades 6-8.
The Middle School was awarded the Environmental Eagles certificate as part of THE GREEN TEAM program and will receive GREEN TEAM wristbands for their efforts. In addition students will be recognized in the local paper and on THE GREEN TEAM website, www.thegreenteam.org.
Mr. Greg Vennell, head of the Middle School, will announce this recognition on May 30 at the Awards Ceremony on Magnolia Day.
