The Parent and School Partnership

We recognize that having the support of parents is crucial if we are to achieve our goals as laid out in our mission statement. Students must feel supported and encouraged as they work diligently to complete coursework and maintain high grades, participate in extra-curricular activities and define themselves as young adults, burgeoning scholars, and members of a community. Our advising program serves the dual purpose of providing students with a trusted mentor and advocate, and of offering each parent a specific contact at the school who is aware of their child’s overall academic and social progress. Because we want parents to understand the expectations we have for their children, we ask families to sit together to review our handbook and curriculum guide. When parents know what policies are in place at the school and help to reinforce them, students benefit from the unity of message at home and at school.

The MacDuffie School is fortunate to have wonderful parents who actively participate in the life of the school in ways that truly enrich our community. To find out more about our Parents’ Association and the MacDuffie Booster Club, please click here.
